After 17 years at Blizzard, Chief Creative Officer Rob Pardo is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
Pardo helped in classics that many gamers live by today including World of Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo III. Pardo posted some parting words on Battle.net stating that it's time "to pursue the next chapter in my life and career." He went on to say, "I’m looking forward to new challenges in my career, but I will always cherish the time I spent with you all and the amazing and collaborative teams at Blizzard."
Although Pardo hasn't said as to what is next in his life path, he did say we will all know when he's ready to share and "It’s like having an empty quest log and going into a new zone for the first time."
Creator of Gears of War, Cliff Bleszinski, wished Rob Pardo the best of luck in a tweet earlier this morning:
We wish you well too sir.
