Google has officially purchased video game streaming service Twitch for $1 billion.
In a report by VentureBeat, the search engine giants has put a billion of their dollars towards purchasing the service which has gained notably more steam since the integration built into both current-gen consoles. Although the $1 billion amount is only assumed, many sources have come forth over the past few months claiming that the dollar amount is relatively accurate.
Google is adding to their already massive online presence as the company purchased YouTube in 2006 in a similar matter. We'll keep you up to date as Google continues to buy up other web giants to form a meg-web giant.
