A new update will start hitting Xbox One owners in the coming weeks the upgrades the Blu-Ray player to support 3D functionality as well as give players the ability to begin remote downloads on their consoles from Xbox.com and SmartGlass apps.
Announced on Xbox Wire, Major Nelson detailed much of the August update that seems to be much more socially focused.
Enhancements to the activity feed, more friends focus on the Home screen, and seeing the last time a friend was online all add to making the platform more social. As you can see from the video above, the activity feed now allows users to "like" an activity on their feed as well as post comments on their shared activity mimicking something like a social network platform a la Facebook.
Another feature that many have asked for on Xbox Feedback is the ability to watch Blu-Ray movies in 3D. On top of that, you can now turn notifications off when trying to watch said movie.
Also being added is the ability to remotely to install purchased content like games and add-ons directly from Xbox.com or SmartGlass provided the Xbox One is set to accept updates.
