In an absolute "we have to do this" maneuver, Konami has announced a reduction in price for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes from $39.99 to $29.99 for both physical and digital copies.
After reports from multiple outlets discussing the roughly 2 hour campaign for the prequel, Konami found it in their best interest to reduced the price, albeit not a lot, to encourage sales. Although game director Hideo Kojima states that replayability is aplenty, many found the length versus the price to be unreasonable. This is all based on not playing it of course.
In a report by GameInformer, first runs and digital editions on a limited run will unlock content for Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain for Mother Base. Any owner of Ground Zeroes can unlock content that carries over to Phantom Pain such as prisoners (?), VIP's, and skins.
Ground Zeroes arrives on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 on March 18th.
