Activision has announced that if players purchase Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on PS3 or Xbox 360 digitally, they can upgrade to the current generation consoles for free within the same console family.
Announced on the official site, the upgrade is granted to players who purchase and redeem by March 31st, 2015. What's also nice about this feature is that provided you redeem on time, you essentially get two games for the price of one as both versions stay active. Again, this only applies to digital copies of the game.
In addition to the base game, the DLC offerings and season passes all transfer to PS4 or Xbox One in the same console family without a redemption time frame. That means all four DLC's across all platforms.
The publisher did a similar type of deal with September's hit, Destiny, and it seems to be a great value for customers that they intend to continue offering it going forward. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases on all four platforms on November 3rd for midnight launch pre-orders and November 4th for everybody else.
