Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Runs 1080p and 60fps on PS4

Information has inadvertently leaked concerning the re-release of Tomb Raider's framerate on PS4 and Xbox One with the former running at 60fps.

In a livestream with GamesRadar, executive producer Scot Amos confirmed the framerate stating, "Looking here, this is the PS4 version running at 60fps, again at 1080p." The Xbox One version, however, holds at about 30fps which is the minimum goal for the developer.

To attempt to clarify, IGN contacted Square Enix and received a reply that neither confirmed, nor denied, the allegations:

"Both platforms offer the same outstanding Tomb Raider experience. Delivering the core Tomb Raider gameplay at native 1080p and running at 30fps was always our primary goal given the type of experience Tomb Raider is and the exploration we want players to do. Anything beyond 30fps for this version is gravy."

Although this may be slightly concerning for some, it should be known that both versions are running natively at 1080p and they both look significantly upgraded, as seen by the video above.

The Definitive Edition hits stores, both physical and digital, on January 28th in the States.
