If Ubisoft has anything to do with it -- and they most certainly do -- we could see the release of not just one Assassin's Creed, but two according to the an interview in the Examiner.
Ubisoft Sofia producer Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov spoke with the online publication and stated that multiple releases next year was "Definitely a possibility." Black Flag, although very attractive, could have benefited from a sole focus on the new platforms as opposed to trying to develop for lesser hardware and it seems this is being considered. The Examiner notes that their sources state two AC games being developed with one focusing on last-gen and one focusing its strength in next-gen.
This could be a step in the right direction in terms of getting the best looking product to consumers, but with two teams working on two products with two stories, one has to imagine the likelihood of both sets of consumers getting exemplary products to be slim. Could one of the games be a game set in Egypt? We will all find out in the coming months.
