Last week PlayStation released an FAQ on what the day one update will include all the way down to having the ability to play DVD's and Blu-rays. Microsoft has countered that extremely crappy news with extremely crappy news of its own.
In an interview with Engadget, Microsoft senior director of product management Albert Penello said, "Functionally, you will be able to do very little without taking the day one update." Penello was given a scenario that upon coming home, a new Xbox One user's internet is down. When asked what players can do, Penello said, "Nothing. You need the Day One update," and later stating, "It's not gonna be really an optional thing."
So pay your Comcast, Surewest, Time Warner, Cox, AT&T, and other internet bills. If you pay nothing else, this one should be top priority. Xbox One is set to release in just two weeks on November 22nd.
